Midnight Madness

So I went to Borders last night to pick up my copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and I'd never before been to one of the midnight release parties. There must have been 200 people there, much of them dressed up, young and old, people of all kinds. It was truly a spectacle to behold and it made me sad to think that this would be the last time a gathering such as this would take place- and it was only my first time.

I got home around 1 am with my book and read till about 2:30 before I went to bed, and already, only 80 pages in or so people were dying left and right. Now it's back to my book.

Snape, friend or foe?

That's the answer everyone will be looking forward to reading this friday night when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out. I can't wait to pick this book up, as lately my interest in the young wizards life has re-emerged.

After reading book 5, H.P. and the Order of the Phoenix, I was disinterested for awhile in the H.P. story, because I was so let down by book 5. Consequently when book 6 came out, I never even picked it up. I didn't feel the excitement to read it like I had with the previous books. So just last weekend, after seeing all the hype for the new movie and the new book, I decided to go pick up book 6 and give it a go. I read it in about 4 days and it was outstanding. So now I'm once again excited at the premise of seeing where this final installment of Harry Potter leads us.

A mid-summer night's dream

Well Friday the 13th has come and nearly gone. Today was my dad's birthday, and I cooked up a feast. We also went out to Ted Drewes to get some concretes as well.

Not much going on with the band right now, what with Tim living in Columbia. I think we're practicing next weds without Tim, but plans have fallen through before. The last couple shows we a lot of fun. We played at Lemmons not long ago and right after that we played an acoustic set at Nancee's house. There are videos up on the webpage.

The other day this guy- Scott Zinn- emailed Gary out of the blue, wanting to know what was on with his old group of friends that he abandoned when he got married. Gary called me up laughing his ass off because this guy is now divorced and has a kid. I don't think any of us cared much for him once he washed his hands of us.

Also, midseason has come and the Cardinals still can't get their shit together. Kip Wells= starting pitcher for a highschool team, maybe...cut his ass loose! Barry Bonds= jackass and cheater. Detroit Tigers and New York Mets in the World Series this year. I predict the redbirds don't make the playoffs. :(
