Unpimp Your Auto

Oh Snap!

Additional, for those fans of ours floating around Columbia MO, I just recieved and email from the evening DJ, Barrett, who is on the airwaves of 100.1 The Buzz from 7pm-midnight. We sent the radio station a cd and whatayaknow, they liked it. They liked it so much in fact that Barrett emailed us today to let us know that tonight, 6/26, he would be playing one of our tracks on the local show at 9pm! So tune in if you can, and I think you can access a stream from their website, www.buzz.fm.

Metal Anyone?

Soooo.... I was cruising aroudn cyberspace, looking for something interesting to read, and happend upon the NJN website and realized we've got a show coming up soon. Like a week from tommorow. I wanted to find out a little more about the bands we were playing with, specifically Lung Dust, since Tim said he thought I'd like them. As I was looking around I came to the Just Bills website, strangely enough at the web address www.chunksofmeat.com, thats right, www.chunksofmeat.com.

Now I already know from our last venture our to Overland that this place is a metal bar, and a freakishly loud metal bar at that. I found out that they've added a 4th headlining band to the night, Eli Stone. These guys are one of the bigger metal bands in St. Louis. I've actually heard them on the radio. That doesn't mean jack shit if you're not a metal fan though, and we are certainly not metal. It appears we're going to be the odd man out next week.

Reference

I asked some people for information so I could used them as references, Tim wrote back with the funniest shit I've ever read I think:

Timothy William Brown
Employer: Hoes R You
Occupation: Professional Woman Dealer
Title: Executive Vice President to the Pimp of Northeast St. Louis County
Income: 15% of what the Hoes bring in before taxes [my boss recieves 20%]
Responsibilities: Protecting da Hoes from competing pimps, drug dealers/users, and the fuzz [aka da po po]. Housing da Hoes. Bathing, clothing, and feeding da Hoes. Occasionally smacking da Hoes. And during slow periods [i.e. the end of Winter and just before the professional baseball season] pleasuring da Hoes, or should I say allowing them the privelage of pleasuring me.
Relationship to Sedd: Supplied him with his very first Ho [a stretched out, lazy eyed Asian with cigarette breath and a strong support of the Death Penalty], and he has been a steady customer ever since.

NJN goes Emo

I guess this is what NJN would look like if we were an EMO band.

Hilariousity

Our last show at the Ten Mile House with Dimlit Daylight and Powers Court was probably the begining of a new venue-riffic relationship. Of course we weren't hampered by Heather being trashed on stage, which was a good thing:

Once she stopped stumbling around like a pro, the show went on as per usual (I mean it was damn funny, I thought she was going to really take a spill!). She looked hung over before the hangover kicked in.

Credit where credit is due

It happens this way, it always does. There isn't jack shit going on of any real significance and then out of nowhere I'm hit in the face with all kinds of new happenings that I wasn't expecting. I am of course speaking in terms of the band, this is a blog for the band first and me second. Firstly Gary has been working his ass off for us booking shows and even getting shirts made. All his hard work has come to fruition it seems because we've got a handful of shows coming up and Not Just Noise Tshirts are in!

So it's good news for shows but we're still waiting to hear from our engineer about getting into the studio to finish our cd. The live disc is being compiled by Heather's husband Marty, which is probably going to be the best of two performances at Off Broadway. Everything I've heard from the live tracks is just plain awsome. Tshirts will be availible at shows and if you contact us we'll hook you up.

Check us out on these dates, and check Not Just Noise often for updates, as we expect more shows to be coming in the future.

Practice and whatnot

Not much going on lately. Tonight is practice, as long as nobody forgets again. I doubt we'll have any trouble tonight. New songs are going well, currently we are working on Infamous and I Can't Even Feel My Toes. They are just two of at least six new songs we're currenlty trying to iron out.

I think we're due for a studio session soon, but I can't remember exactly when we're going in again. I know we've got a handful of shows scheduled but most aren't until the fall. The next show we've got booked is for the 105.7ThePoint Local Show at Pops in July I believe. I'm sure we'll get something going before then, but it's good to know we've got something big coming up.

I just don't know what to do with myself... I've become complacent since I graduated. I want to get a real job, but I'm not very motivated. I want to leave my job in the worst way, and go do something I've been studying for years, but I'm just feeling kinda blah lately.
